In plain words. Vaultie is free to use during launch. It keeps what you put in it encrypted on your phone, and only you hold the keys. That also means only you can get back in: keep your PIN and recovery key safe, and keep backups of what matters to you.
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Workaholic Developers (“we”, “us”), the maker of Vaultie: Private Photo Vault (“Vaultie”). By downloading or using Vaultie you agree to them. On iPhone, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
2. Free during launch
Vaultie is free to download and use during launch, and it has no ads. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on devices you own or control. If we ever add optional paid features, the price will be shown in the App Store or Google Play before you pay, and payment is handled by Apple or Google.
3. Your PIN, recovery key and backups
- You choose your PIN (or passphrase) and your backup passwords, and Vaultie shows you your recovery key once. Keep them safe. We never see them, keep no copy and can’t reset them.
- If you lose both your PIN and your recovery key, your vault can’t be opened, by you, by us or by anyone else, and what’s inside is lost. If you forget a backup password, that backup can’t be opened.
- Your vault is not included in iCloud or Google device backups. If your phone is lost, broken or reset, or you delete Vaultie or use “Erase vault”, everything in the vault is gone unless you have a
.vaultiebackup and its password. Make backups of what matters to you. - Copies you export or share leave the vault and are no longer protected by Vaultie.
- Deleting originals from your gallery after you import them is your choice, and your phone asks you to confirm it first.
4. What Vaultie can and can’t do
Vaultie protects what you store in it as described in the app and on this website. No app can protect against every threat. Vaultie can’t protect a phone that is jailbroken, rooted or running malware, a PIN someone sees you type, or screenshots on iPhone (iOS doesn’t let apps block them). A decoy PIN and break-in alerts are helpful deterrents, not guarantees.
5. Fair use
Use Vaultie lawfully, for things you have the right to keep. Don’t copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it.
6. Your data
Everything in Vaultie stays on your phone, and we never receive it. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
7. No warranty
Vaultie is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work hard to make it reliable and secure, but we can’t promise that it will be free of errors or suit every need.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Workaholic Developers is not liable for lost data, including data that can’t be recovered because a PIN, recovery key or backup password was lost, or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Vaultie. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
9. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will mention significant changes in the app’s release notes.
10. Stopping
You can stop using Vaultie at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app deletes the vault on that phone, so export or back up anything you want to keep first.
